Buck, a Hemingway-esque author, is found dead, and the cause is first thought to be a heart attack, but when it's revealed that he was really strangled to death, Burke has several suspects to throw the book at, including some of his cohorts from his various travels, a publisher with a gruesome secret and a college professor who claims to be his son.
