Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered is the sixteenth episode of the second season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and the twenty-eighth episode overall. When Cordelia dumps Xander in order to regain favor with her friends, he decides to cast a love spell on her.

• 1x03 - The Witch: Amy's mother was a formidable witch who used her powers to switch bodies with her daughter and relive her cheerleading glory days. Eventually, her ruse was found out and the spell was reversed. Since the events of that night, Mrs. Madison has been trapped inside a cheerleading trophy.

• Factual Error: When Amy is casting the spell, she invokes the name of Diana as the goddess of love and the hunt. In actuality, Diana is only goddess of the hunt. In the Roman god canon, Venus was the goddess of love.

• Omission: Buffy was turned into a rat in this episode for a practical reason; Sarah Michelle Gellar needed the time to rehearse in New York City for her first appearance on Saturday Night Live. Incidentally, David Boreanaz and Seth Green also made cameo appearances in the episode.
• Reception: Nicholas Brendon has said that this is one of his favorite episodes. Animator Bruce Timm points to this episode as the inspiration for the Justice League Unlimited episode This Little Piggy, in which Wonder Woman is turned into a pig.
• International: Buffy the Vampire Slayer has been dubbed into many different languages and the title translated for each different international version. Some international translations of this episode's title are:
