While trapped on Ragnar Anchorage, Commander William Adama engaged in a philosophical discussion about humanity with the Cylon agent known as Leoben Conoy. When Adama became dissatisfied with the direction the conversation was headed, he beat the Cylon to death with his flashlight. This otherwise unassuming device has become the totem of Adama's will and power.
