[edit] New Caprica Aftermath

  • A six-man jury team known as "The Circle", composed of Colonel Tigh, Chief Tyrol, Anders, Jean Barolay, Seelix, and Charlie Connor is executing former Cylon collaborators aboard Galactica. One of these collaborators is technician James "Jammer" Lyman.
  • The Circle finds Lyman guilty of crimes against humanity. Jammer tries to absolve himself of his crimes by telling Chief that he let Cally go, but The Circle and particularly Circle member Charlie Connor don't believe that this relieves him of his guilt in the deaths of 23 people during one of his raids. Jammer is blown out a Viper launch tube.
  • Adama calls Gaeta to help repair damaged systems from the leap into New Caprica's atmosphere. Upon his arrival on the bridge, he is treated with overt hostility by most, primarily by Colonel Tigh, who berates him for having been Baltar's chief of staff and thus responsible for thousands of deaths under the Cylon occupation. Tigh's verbal assault increases in intensity until Adama stops him and orders him off the bridge.
  • The Circle votes on Gaeta. Seelix, Connor, Tigh and Barolay say he's guilty, but Anders and Tyrol argue that they can't find him guilty because there's no hard evidence that he was actually responsible for anything. There is an argument, which ends with Anders storming out of the meeting and leaving The Circle. Tyrol refuses to vote at all unless they have a sixth, which means they need to find someone to replace Anders.
  • The hostility to Gaeta continues in the mess hall. Starbuck comes over to eat with him, but the conversation turns ugly and she accuses him of leaving her to rot in the Cylon jail cell. Gaeta insists that he didn't know she was being held or he would have done something to help. Starbuck doesn't believe him, and Gaeta tries to defend himself by telling her about how he was feeding information to the Resistance through dead drops. Starbuck doesn't believe that either.
  • Apollo and Adama discuss the status of the fleet. Apollo mentions that thirteen people have disappeared, including Jammer.
  • The Circle recruits Starbuck to take Anders' place on the jury.
  • Starbuck votes guilty on Gaeta. Tyrol holds out a bit longer and then folds under the pressure, voting guilty as well.
  • Anders calls Starbuck out of the meeting and they talk about how she changed on New Caprica. They essentially separate.
  • Gaeta is captured by The Circle and brought to a launch tube. The Circle tells him that this is a Presidentially sanctioned trial and asks him to explain himself. Gaeta refuses to beg for his life. Starbuck tries to force him to beg, kicking him, and makes mocking reference to some of the things he said in the mess hall, including the dog bowl. Tyrol frees Gaeta, telling the others about the dog bowl dead drop: this proves Gaeta was their source on the inside.
  • Tom Zarek reveals to Adama and Roslin that he authorized the secret trials and executions to save the Roslin administration from having to deal with unpopular public trials and executions. Neither Roslin or Adama are happy.

[edit] The Fleet

  • Laura Roslin meets with now-President Tom Zarek to discuss what will happen now. Zarek intends to name Roslin Vice President and then step down as President, allowing her to take over.
  • She asks what he wants in return for this and he says that all he wants is to be on the inside now. She offers him the vice-presidency, which he accepts.
  • Roslin is reinstated as President of the Colonies. Her first action as President is to officially pardon all the collaborators, starting over fresh.

[edit] Baltar

  • Baltar is aboard Colonial One, with Adama and Roslin telling him how there was nothing he could do with regards to the New Caprica situation. Head-Six appears and complains that they're being too lenient. Adama hears her, and Baltar realizes he's dreaming.
  • Baltar wakes and finds himself held captive on a Cylon base ship.
  • A Number Three visits him and tells him that the Cylons held a vote as to whether or not he should be allowed to stay. Three models have voted for him to stay, three for him to be removed, with one unit undecided - Six.
  • Six visits Baltar and tells him their relationship needs to end because she's a Cylon first. Baltar tries to convince her that she's more than just a machine and that she needs him. She leaves, and he belatedly adds that he needs her too, and notes that he should have started with that.
  • The Six units eventually change their minds and vote for Baltar to stay.
